Role at One&Other:

Favourite time of year:

Summer months for the festivals and beer gardens, and the weekend in December when the Festival of Angels is on in York.

Favourite travel destination:

Rainbow Beach in Australia, Koh Tao in Thailand and Polzeath in Cornwall

Secret hideout in York:

Standing at the cast iron gates of the Treasurers House near the Minster, looking in towards the gardens and the house. Its stunning, and extremely peaceful.

Favourite things about living here:

The beauty and history of the city, and the proud feeling you get when bringing visitors here, no one is disappointed. I have lived here all my life and I still find myself walking around mesmerized by the buildings, and I still take a moment to stop to look down Stonegate whenever I walk past.

Best bars:

Bora Bora for cheap cocktails, 1331 for coffees and brunch, Evil Eye and the Kings Arms for lazy afternoon beers and The Guy Fawkes Inn for a change.

Best insiders tip:

Look up. So much of the city will go unnoticed if you look where others always look. Also, stand at the top of Stonegate in the evening and look down, particularly at Christmas when the lights are up. Its my favourite thing about York.

Best view of the city:

Standing in the middle of Lendal Bridge in winter, looking down the river towards Scarborough Bridge. The river often freezes over and has a magical feel to it.

Favourite shop:

Ark the clothes shop. I should be given a discount card for my constant loyalty to that shop.

Best place to eat:

The Old Siam on Micklegate for Thai food, and Lucias for a nice lunch and cheap cocktails.

This time next year I will be:

I should be settling into my career in Advertising, but I never like to do things normally. So, with any luck I will be in Canada snowboarding and learning French, or rehabilitating baby monkeys or sea turtles in Africa, or launching One&Other in Sydney. Big ambitions.

Top 5 bands:

Muse, 2 Door Cinema Club, Dire Straits, Van Morrison and Paolo Nutini is my guilty pleasure.

Favourite era:

The Victorian times. I would love to go back to that era for a few days, to see how they lived. I would also have loved to be alive in WWI, that era intrigues me.

If I was an animal I would be a:

mandrill-baboon like Rafiki from Lion King

I have a short attention span, and as a result of this I enjoy spontaneity. I like causing a reaction, and rising to challenges.

I love to travel and have a continuously growing list of places I wish to visit. I have been very lucky in life and have visited many amazing places, spending a large chunk of a year in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand, and mixing my time at university with a stint at California State University, Sacramento for a semester.  I will climb Kilimanjaro one day, hopefully with my dad. And i would love to take my mum to Thailand to sample the real Asian cuisine which we both love so much.

Having recently graduated with a degree in Marketing and Advertising Management, I now have the basis of a continuously growing dream of owning my own company, in Advertising or Branding and would love to work internationally, in San Francisco where I genuinely left my heart.

My one wish is to have a log fire in my house. I couldn’t live without prawns. I put a lot of effort into relationships and love meeting new people.
