With the arrival of York’s Sweet Story this spring, all you brilliant bakers out there have the opportunity to ‘showcase your creativity’.
A café will be introduced for the York’s Sweet Story project and delectable, unique recipes are hugely needed to make the menu as delicious and eclectic as possible. “ We’re looking for indulgent recipes inspired by the people of York, which celebrate the city’s sweet story – the more creative the better.”
Whether you are a traditional baker, with recipes passed down evoking nostalgia or a modern no-scales-necessary adventurous Heston Blumenthal type. Maybe you are someone who only bakes when you take time out of your busy schedule or whether baking for you is an indulgent hobby and that you look forward to setting time aside to make some tasty grub. York’s Sweet Story aim to use local suppliers, people who can make the cakes for the opening of the café in the spring.
So whether you want to showcase your baking brilliance, to open someone’s eyes to an old yet delicious recipe or just get involved in something you love. Whether you are an expert baker or just a novice, you can apply by either sending in your recipes or if you prefer to make it and deliver it to the tasting panel in person- well that’s an option too!
“So, whether you’ve created tasty mint humbug cookies or have been passed down a delicious recipe for Yorkshire tea and biscuit cake from your grandmother, we would love to hear from you!”
