Our enchanting York needs your help, with TIM (The Incredible Movement) in York looking for helpers the Food & Drink Festival and their Incredible Party. TIM, aimed at creating solutions to today’s social and economic challenges, are looking for dedicated volunteers to join the idea behind the organisation as said by Imelda Havers, coordinator of TIM in York:  “We can create simple acts within our communities that can make life better for all of us”.

On September 25th, from 9am to 5pm, you will be tasked with the promotion of locally grown food at a Farmers style market stall, part of York Food and Drink Festival. Whilst enticing passers-by, handing out leaflets and stickers for the Incredible Tour and Party taking place on the next day. By getting people to sign up for it and by tipping in your own ideas, you will make a great contribution to TIM’s philosophy. If you are into gardening or if you just enjoy the green side of York, TIM are keen to having you supervise the planting of edibles as part of their programme.

On September 26th, you can help make The Incredible Tour and Party a memorable event. Activities vary including helping with food and drink serving, checking tickets, getting contact details of people who want to be kept informed, gathering ideas, setting up and clearing up afterwards, picking up furniture, and just giving a hand wherever there is help needed.

All volunteers are welcome to join TIM with free food and drink at the party.

The Incredible Tour starts at 4.30pm at the Edible York’s Barbican beds. Attendees will get an overview over York’s green projects: Your journey will take you to other Edible York growing sites and local food enterprises, passing by Melton’s Too in Walmgate and El Piano, both restaurants championing local produce. Accompanied by street theatre and music you will head towards The New Schoolhouse Gallery on Peasholme Green for the party. The Incredible Party offers you a great opportunity to get in touch with other like-minded people, to enjoy spontaneous performances from celebrated local artists and international food created especially for the event.
