A bumper summer season has prompted a York ice cream manufacturer to strengthen its team with two key appointments.
Acaster Malbis based Yorvale has recruited Leanne Temple and Sue Smith into the new positions of Graduate Trainee and Accounts and Office Assistant respectively.
Leanne, an English Literature and Education Studies graduate from Durham University, joined the dairy ice cream business on 2nd July and is learning about the sales and marketing parts of the business from Commercial Director, Lesley Buxton.
24 year old Leanne said; “I’m delighted to be working with Lesley and the team at Yorvale as it approaches its 25th anniversary. It’s been an eventful month and a steep learning curve but I’m pleased that I have been able to use my English skills to help write product descriptions and brochure copy.”
Former landlady of the Blacksmith’s Arms in Huntington, Sue Smith has found her niche in the busy Yorvale office assisting Yorvale’s Finance Director Ian Buxton with purchase ledger, credit control and order processing.
The two new appointments take the number of staff at the family farm based business to 11. Of the appointments, Lesley Buxton said; “We’re delighted with the progress that Leanne and Sue have made in a very short space of time. They’re fast learners who are not afraid to show initiative and are already adding value to the business.”
Sue concluded; “Yorvale is a great example of a friendly, successful family business and I’m thoroughly enjoying being part of the small, close knit team.”
Yorvale produces an extensive range of dairy ice cream, sorbets and new frozen yogurt brand, Yoryog that are available nationwide via selected wholesalers and from farm shops, independent retailers, Waitrose, Booths, Asda, Tesco and Morrisons throughout Yorkshire.
