A leading local car retailer with a SEAT dealership in York is celebrating notching up 50 years in business.
Family-run D M Keith Ltd, which was founded by Duncan Keith and is now run by sons Dougal and Angus, started from small premises in Cross Green, Leeds, to reach its place today as one of Yorkshire’s top dealerships with five sites dotted across the region.
Jeremy Preece, Dealer Principal at D M Keith SEAT York, said: “Family cars from a car family is the D M Keith Ltd catch-phrase. The Keith car family has enjoyed 50 years of developing genuine relationships with our customers, who are treated as if they are a member of the family.”
D M Keith SEAT opened in York’s Wigginton Road in 2009 when the Keith brothers, who joined the company in the early 1980s, realised the young-spirited Spanish car maker would ideally complement its status as the country’s largest Skoda retailer.
Jeremy added: “As part of the Volkswagen Group, the SEAT dealership in York has been a natural progression from the Skoda brand. With exciting cars, unrivalled aftersales care, family values and staff passionate about the SEAT brand – D M Keith Ltd has everything to appeal to today’s driver.”
Staff at DM Keith, which also has sites in Wakefield, Bradford, Huddersfield and Leeds, wear tartan ties each day to signify the clan Keith that Dougal and Angus are descended from.
