The Listening Agenda

October 30th, 2012

Yesterday One&Other’s Stuart and Pete had a trip out to The Priory Centre, where York CVS – a group promoting volunteering opportunities in the city – were holding a ‘meet the press’ seminar, introducing figures from some of the area’s more popular print and web publications to prominent members of local voluntary and community interest groups. Stu answered questions alongside Khaoz Media’s Colm O’Rourke and a gaggle of writers of the more suited-and-booted persuasion from some of Yorkshire’s traditional media companies.

What really came across was that it can be a real struggle for charitable organisations to get their press releases noticed by some of the bigger publications. Us lot at One&Other pride ourselves on being different. Let us assure you that every press release you send us, we’ll engage with.

Maybe if we make a difference in our community, the big guys will follow suit.

If you have a good cause in the city you think we should hear about, or if you think there’s anything at all happening in York that we need to be covering, write to us at:
